With their two South Coast Conference wins on Friday at the Falcon Aquatic Center, the Cerritos College men's swimming team finished their regular season with a 6-1 record. The Falcons, who will swim in the Pasadena Invitational next Friday, earned wins over both Chaffey College (198-73) and Los Angeles Trade-Tech College (221-35) in their final South Coast Conference meet.

On the day, Cerritos won 14 of the 15 events, with six different swimmers earning first place finishes in at least one individual race. Freshmen Isiah Gayton (Whittier HS) and Jason Ly (Villa Park HS) both won all three of their individual races, while Ly also swam the first leg of the winning 200-yard medley relay race.

Ly was joined by sophomores Marlon Moreno (Virgen del Rosario, Venezuela) and Joshua Owens (Kennedy HS), along with freshman Angel Rojas (Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela) to easily win the 200-yard medley relay. The day ended with Albert Kim (Cerritos HS), Daniel Loeza (Hamilton HS), Diego Lucas (Warren HS) and Daryl Da Silva (Cerritos HS) recording a time of 3:33.55 to edge Chaffey in the 400-yard freestyle relay.

He was tested in the 200-yard butterfly by Orion Jorgensen of Chaffey and edged him by one second with a time of 2:11.00.

Ly earned wins on both of the backstroke races and opened with a time of 58.18 to hold off Kim, who took second place in 1:00.32, but he was untested in the 200-yard backstroke with a seven-second win, as he touched up in 2:08.59. His third win of the day came in the 200-yard IM and pulled out a win over Brett Rohde of Chaffey. Ly finished the race in 2:071.7, with Rohde right behind in 2:08.15.
