Competing in their first meet of the season, the Cerritos College men's track team took part in the Mt. San Antonio Conference opener on Friday. The Falcons will take a week off before they compete in both the Mt. San Antonio Combined events and Crosstown Relays, while serving as the host.

At the season opener, Cerritos won three events and placed second in four other events. The field events led the way, as sophomore Jamie Vega (Downey HS) won the triple jump and took second in the long jump. Sophomore Matthew Seawright (Long Beach Millikan HS) also won the hammer and earned a second place finish in the discus. Also winning an event was sophomore Anthony Lozano (La Serna HS) in the 3000-meter steeplechase.
