As they get set to open their 2012-13 season, the Cerritos College women's basketball team has been ranked #7 in the state in a pre-season poll. The Falcons, who are opening their season against Grosmont College at the San Diego Mesa Tournament at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, were also ranked #7 in Southern California.

The team returns four players from last  year's team that went 23-8 on the year and advanced to the third round of the Southern California Regional Playoffs. Guard Marissa Rendon (St. Paul HS), a 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection, is joined by forwards Diamond Roberts (Mayfair HS), Deenesha Bee (Pioneer HS) and Angela Pena (Huntington Park College Ready Academy HS) as the team looks to compete in the tough South Coast Conference and the post-season.
