Dr. Ashkay Mehta (Team Physician)

Dr. Mehta is a fellowship-trained Orthopedic Surgeon specializing in sports medicine, shoulder and elbow surgery, as well as the treatment of arthritic disorders of the shoulder, hip and knee and musculoskeletal trauma.

Christopher Ingstad, DPT, ATC
Physical Therapist

Christopher Ingstad - Physical Therapist Christopher Ingstad is a full-time faculty member of the Physical Therapist Assistant program at Cerritos College and oversees the long term rehabilitation of intercollegiate athletics. He graduated from California State University, Dominguez Hills with a Bachelor of Arts in Physical Education with emphasis on Athletic Training. He is a certified athletic trainer (ATC) through The National Athletic Trainers’ Association Board of Certification. He completed his physical therapy education from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in St. Augustine, Florida in 2007. He holds a certification in manual therapy (MTC) and is an orthopedic clinical specialist (OCS). Dr. Ingstad received his fellowship training in orthopaedic manual physical therapy through the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (AAOMPT) Association.

Prior to his transition to Cerritos College, Dr. Ingstad worked principally in outpatient orthopedic physical therapy and owned his own outpatient orthopedic practice, with significant focus on sport rehabilitation and injury prevention. His areas of interest are in rehabilitation of overhead throwing athletes, sport-related ankle and knee injuries, along with treating cervical injuries, headaches and TMJ-related pain. Additionally, he currently works as an active member of the medical staff for the International Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (IBJJF) and is the physical therapist for the women’s USA National Beach Handball Team. Dr. Ingstad is also an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association’s Orthopaedic section, the California Physical Therapy Association, as well as AAOMPT

Brian Cable

Brian joined the athletic training staff at Cerritos College in July, 2000. He graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Athletic Training from Cal State University, Long Beach in 1996 and then received a Master’s Degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Biomechanics from Cal State University, Fullerton.

After becoming a Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) in 1997, Brian worked at the high school, community college, and professional soccer ranks before being employed at Cerritos College.

Brian is an active member of the National Athletic Trainer’s Association and is preceptor for the athletic training program at Cal State University, Long Beach. He also currently serves as the chair on the College and University Athletic Trainers.

Certified Athletic Trainer Monica Cordova

Joining the Cerritos College Athletic Training staff in 2021 after two and a half years with the Santa Ana College Sports Athletic Department is Monica (Cordova) Dinius. While at Santa Ana College, she was a Head Athletic Trainer overseeing the care of about 375 student athletes. Before joining the Dons, Dinius spent two years as the Associate Athletic Trainer at Whittier College where she assisted in coordinating and providing care for 22 athletic teams. Prior to her time at Whittier College, she served as the Athletic Trainer to the USA Men's National Indoor Volleyball Team for the 2015 Pan American Games in Toronto, Canada. 

Dinius was also a part of the Long Beach State Athletic Training staff as a graduate assistant, working with the nationally ranked men's water polo and men's volleyball teams from 2013-2015. Her experience also includes working at Rowland High School as the Head Athletic Trainer from 2012-2013 and interning with USA Volleyball during the summers of 2012 and 2013.

Dinius started her collegiate education at Cerritos College in the Athletic Trainer Aide Certificate Program. She then transferred to California State University, Fullerton where she received her Bachelor's degree in Athletic Training. After a year of working at Rowland High School, she went on to complete two years as a graduate assistant at California State University, Long Beach where she earned her Master’s of science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sport and Exercise Psychology.

Ashley Reamer Ashley Reamer is the newest member of the Cerritos College athletic training staff. She comes to Cerritos after spending three years at San Bernardino Valley College. Prior to that, Reamer  worked at Fresno City College.

Besides Fresno City, Reamer has worked as a part-time athletic trainer at Compton and El Camino Colleges, and gained experience in the field working at LA Southwest and Fullerton Colleges, as well as stints with the National Hockey League’s Anaheim Ducks and at UCLA. She is certified through the National Athletic Trainers Association.

She graduated from Fresno State University with her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology, before receiving her Master’s degree in Athletic Training from Chapman University

Athletic Trainer Toni Taguiam Toni Taguiam started at Cerritos College in 2001-2003 as a intern working under Brian Cable and Beverly Sweet. Toni is excited to be returning as a Certified ATC. She graduated from California State University Long Beach where, she obtained her Bachelors degree in Kinesiology/Physical Education with an emphasis in Athletic Training. After becoming certified in 2004, Toni has worked at Lakewood High School, Santa Ana College and Westminster High School and has 18 years experience.
