The Cerritos College men's basketball team seems to be getting healthy for the first time all season, which has resulted in wins in three of their last four games. Most recently, the Falcons (5-7) won two of three games at the College of the Sequoias Tournament to win the consolation championship. After a 59-55 loss to Pasadena City College in the opening game, Cerritos responded with a 69-56 win over El Camino College and then defeated Contra Costa College, 67-57. The team will take a little break until they head back on the road to compete in the Allan Hancock Tournament and open with Cuesta College on December 28.

Cerritos vs. Pasadena City: Facing a South Coast Conference opponent, the team led by a point (30-29) at halftime, although they shot just 32% from the field. But in the final 20 minutes, the Lancers used the scoring of Jonathan Henderson (20 points) to pull out the win. No Falcon scored in double-figures, although the trio of sophomores Micah Winn (Crenshaw HS), Josh Bell (Long Beach Wilson HS) and Jeff Gonzalez (Riverside Poly HS/Riverside City College) all had eight points. Bell and Gonzalez combined for 15 rebounds, with freshman Jamal Watson (Lakewood HS) finishing with six points and six rebounds.

Cerritos vs. El Camino: In their second straight game against a conference opponent, Gonzalez led the way with 22 points and six rebounds, while freshman Cristian Perez (Santa Fe HS) and Jay Merriweather (Temescal Canyon HS) added 14 and 12 points, respectively. The bench was shortened, with only Winn and freshman Jonathan Brown (Fairfax HS) adding any support by combining for 10 points.

Cerritos vs. Contra Costa: The consolation championship game saw Winn lead all scorers with 21 points, with Merriweather finishing with 12 points in his second straight start of the season. It was a strong second half performance that allowed the Falcons to pull away for the win. Adding seven points in the victory were Perez (six rebounds), Gonzalez, Brown and Watson.
