The 34-28 lead the Cerritos College men's basketball team took into halftime against host San Bernardino Valley College (7-0) didn't last very long in the second half. The Falcons went up, 36-30 early on after a Demetrius Thomas (Bassick, CT HS/Porterville College) layup with 19:03 left in the second half. But it would be another 5:42 before the team would score their next point, as the Indians pulled ahead, 40-36. The end result was a 58-53 loss, which is the second setback in a row for Cerritos.

It was a close 50-48 game with 4:36 remaining after a Riley Hamilton (Rancho Verde HS) three-pointer, and when Hamilton drained his next shot from outside, the game was tied, 51-51 with 3:54 left on the clock. San Bernardino's Chris Johnson countered with a three-pointer, and after a pair of free throws from Hamilton with 2:37 left, it was a 54-53 game.

Cerritos had three chances to take the lead, but missed all three shots. Kevin McNeal converted a pair of free throws for the Indians with :02 seconds left after Jason Carter (View Park HS/Santa Monica College) missed a jumper with :07 seconds left. San Bernardino added a bucket at the buzzer for the final score.

Hamilton (16 points) was the only Falcon in double figures, while Thomas was saddled with four fouls, which limited him to just 22 minutes. He finished with seven points and five rebounds, while Keshaun Mack (Long Beach Jordan HS/Antelope Valley College) posted eight points and six rebounds. Jonathan Guzman (Paramount HS) led the team with 10 rebounds off the bench.
