As the outcome of the Cerritos College men's basketball game against Los Angeles Harbor College became more evident on Wednesday night, the team started draining three-pointers at a record pace. The Falcons (24-4, 9-0), winners of 10 games in a row, drained a season-high 15 baskets from long range against the Seahawks. Five different players provided the grand total and were a combined 15-for-26 on the night. They will look to complete an undefeated South Coast Conference South Division season when they travel to Long Beach City College for a 7:00 p.m. game on Friday.

Cerritos trailed 18-13 in the first half, but scored the next 10 points for a 23-18 lead with 8:55 left on the clock. They started their offensive push by continuing that run and took a 46-32 lead into halftime. The lead hit the 20-point mark (59-39) after a pair of free throws from sophomore guard Malik Smith (Gahr HS). Sophomore Demetrius Thomas (Bassick, CT HS/Porterville College) drained a three-pointer with 15:12 left to make it a 64-39 lead and from that point forward, the Falcons were off and running.

Not only did they run up and down the court with veritable ease, the also out-rebounded LA Harbor, 50-24, which included an 18-2 advantage on the offensive end. Seven different players scored in double-figures for the Falcons, which included 21 points, seven rebounds, five assists and three blocked shots from Thomas. Smith came close to a triple-double and settled for 14 points, nine rebounds and nine assists, while sophomore guard Riley Hamilton (Rancho Verde HS) accounted for 17 points and nine caroms.

Sophomores Keshaun Mack (Long Beach Jordan HS/Antelope Valley College) and Jonathan Guzman (Paramount HS) combined for 23 points, nine rebounds and eight assists, with freshman Cody Wilkes (La Mirada HS) providing the hot hand off the bench. He hit conseutive three-pointers in the second half, and had four in the game, on his way to 16 points, while sophomore Jason Carter (View Park HS/Santa Monica College) produced 12 points and four assists off the bench.

Cerritos scored 43 baskets and recorded assists on 32 of them, with all nine players who saw action recording points, rebounds and assists.
