As the season continues to prepare them for the most important part of the year, the Cerritos College men's track and field focused more of their attention on their runners at the Triton Invitational at UC San Diego over the weekend. The Falcons, who will host the Cerritos Invitational on Saturday, saw two new names crack the program's Top 5 in the 400 meters.
Sophomore Terrance Williams moved into third place on the college's list with his clocking of 46.68, which put him in fifth place in the race. As me moves closer to the school record of 45.90, set by Kelsey Caesar in 2009, the time by Williams also marked the fastest time in the state.
In the 5000 meters, sophomore Joshua Melendez (St. Paul HS) moved into fifth place on the college's Top 5 list with his time of 14:50.83, and was the third fastest time in the state this season. Melendez already holds the college's second fastest time in the 1500 meters.
