All it took was a second half penalty kick to prove to be enough offense for the Cerritos College women's soccer team in a 1-0 South Coast Conference win at Compton College on Friday. The win by the Falcons (3-6-0, 2-0-0) was their second consecutive shutout and third win in their last four games. The team will continue conference play on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. when they play host to Los Angeles Harbor College.

After a scoreless first half, freshman Jaque Adame (North HS) was able to step up and convert her first penalty kick of the season in the 57th minute, which gave the Falcons their 1-0 lead. The Falcon defense, which included Celeste Dominguez (Downey HS), Vanessa Quintanar (California HS), Mary Morales (Santa Ana HS) and the play of goalkeeper Anahi De Leon (Lynwood HS/East Los Angeles College) helped secure the team's third shutout of the season.

De Leon recorded four saves, while the Falcons finished the day with six shots on goal.
