Women's swimming takes fourth at first invitational of the year

Over the weekend the Cerritos College women's swimming got their season started by competing in the Palomar Pentathlon and Waterman Relays at Palomar College. On Friday, the Falcons finished in fifth place with 68 team points at the pentathlon and followed that with a third place finish at the relays with 334 team points. The team will now compete in the South Coast Conference Pentathlon on Friday at Chaffey College.

In the pentathlon, freshman Lizbeth Ramirez (Sunny Hills HS) turned in a pair of fourth place finishes in both the 50-yard butterfly (29.67) and 50-yard freestyle (26.74), while freshman Carolina Medrano (Schurr HS) checked in with a time of 32.43 for a fifth place in the 50-yard backstroke.

At the Waterman Relays, the best finishes for the Falcons came from Ramirez, who took second place in the 100-yard butterfly (1:13.10), while Medrano checked in with a third place finish in the 200-yard IM at 2:23.86.
