Playing their fifth straight road match, the Cerritos College women's tennis team capped it off with a 9-0 non-conference win at Grossmont College on Friday. The win improved the team's record to 4-1 on the year, with the Falcons hosting Irvine Valley College at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

With three doubles wins under their belt, the Falcons went on the win five of the six singles matches in straight sets, while surrendering just four games. The duo of freshman Kseniia Prokopchuk (School 45, Ukraine) and sophomore Diviana Bravo (Rosa de Jesus Cordero, Ecuador) won their matches by identical 6-0, 6-0 scores, while freshman Moa Lindstrom (Dragonskolans Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden) and sophomore Itzi Torres (ITESM CEM (Mexico/Kansas Wesleyan University) each dropped just one game in their wins. At the top of the ladder, sophomore Petra Such (Illyes Gyula, Hungary) earned a 6-0, 6-2 victory, with the only match to go to a tie-breaker coming in the #6 position. Sophomore Mary Navalta (Norwalk HS), who lost the first set, 1-6, came back to take the second set, 6-3 and then the tie-breaker, 10-7.

In doubles action, the pairing of Such and Prokopchuk did not lose a game, with Lindstrom and Torres posting an 8-2 victory. The third doubles pair of Bravo and Navalta played to an 8-4 winning match.
