In their second dual match of the season against a community college team, the Cerritos College women's wrestling team posted their second shutout. On Thursday, the team traveled to Bakersfield College and recorded a 60-0 win over the Renegades to improve their season record to 2-1. The team will compete in the 3C2A Team Dual State Championships next Saturday at Fresno City College. Cerritos won the title in their inaugural season in 2023.

The match was completed in less than an hour, as Cerritos pinned Bakersfield in all seven matches that were contested, while the Falcons received forfeit wins in the other three.

Three of those seven were completed in less than a minute, as both Ahome Sordo (Paramount HS) and Rebekah Jimenez (Lawndale HS) needed just 30 seconds to get the dual started at 102 pounds and 109 pounds, respectively. Both recorded quick takedowns and then finished off their opponents. At 123 pounds, Denise Figueroa (Mayfair HS) opened up a 7-0 lead before finishing off the match in 55 seconds. As a team, Bakersfield recorded just five team points in the seven matches.

All of the other winners on the day opened up early leads with takedowns before posting their pins.
