Hosting the SoCal Preview Meet on Friday at Don Knabe Community Regional Park, the Cerritos College women's cross country team finished in 17th place with 424 team points. The Falcons will also host the South Coast Conference Championships, as well as the Southern California Championships on the same course later in the season. Next Saturday, the team will travel to Las Vegas to compete in the UNLV Cross Country Invitational at Craig Ranch Regional Park.

The first Cerritos runner to complete the 5K course was freshman Grace Cervantes (Schurr HS), who turned in a time od 21:24.3, which put her in 67th place out of 191 runners. Less than a minute later, freshman Vanessa Garcia (Whittier HS) crossed the finish line in 22:17.0, but saw 29 other runners finish ahead of her, which put her 96th overall, as there were numerous packs of runners finishing within seconds of each other. Garcia was followed closely by freshman Aileen Dominguez (La Mirada HS), who took 99th place overall in 2:22.9, while sophomore Debora Lopez-Guzman (Gahr HS) was clocked in 22:44.2, good for 109th place overall.

It was down to three Falcon runners to determine the fifth scoring position, with freshman Glenn Nance (Gardena HS) turning in a time of 25:59.4 to come in 161st place taking that spot. The duo of freshman Adrianna Martinez (California HS) was next in 164th place in a time of 26:10.1, with freshman Karen Ruano (La Mirada HS) posting a 167th place time of 26:47.1. Also competing on the day were Julie Chou (Cerritos HS; 27:49.0; 176th place) and Sariah Stephens (California HS; 29:33.5; 184th place).
