The Cerritos College women's swimming team compiled 117 points to come in fourth place at the South Coast Conference Pentathlon on Friday. The Falcons will now compete in the Golden West Invitational next Friday.

Leading the team in four of the five events was freshman Amanda Loya (St. Joseph HS), while sophomore Carla Harvey (Potomac Falls, VA HS) paced Cerritos in the fifth event. Both were members of the 200-yard medley team that came in second place.

Loya finished sixth overall in the 50-yard butterfly with a time of 29.04, which was shy of her season best time of 28.85, while Harvey posted the 13th best time of 29.92 on the day. Loya also came in sixth place in the 50-yard breaststroke and was clocked in 34.68, with sophomore Teresa Zuniga (California HS) taking 12th overall in a time of 36.42, which is her personal best of the season.

In the 100-yard IM, Loya led the Falcons with a seventh place finish, as she posted a time of 1:06.19, which eclipsed her best time of the season heading into the meet. As for Harvey, her time of 1:08.87 put her in 14th place in the day. Harvey set a personal best time of 30.65 in the 50-yard backstroke to finish in sixth place, with Loya (33.24) coming in 16th place. It was a 10th place finish in the 100-yard freestyle for Loya with a time of 59.61.

The quartet of Harvey, Loya, freshman Stephanie Alfaro (Gahr HS) and sophomore Bianca Serrano (Cerritos HS) registered a time of 2:02.38 for their second place finish in the 200-yard medley relay.
