W. Swimming: Falcons earn pair of third place finishes

On the first day of the South Coast Conference Championships, the Cerritos College women's swimming team earned a pair of third place finishes. The second day of the championships, which are being held at Mt. San Antonio College, will take place on Friday.

Leading the way for the Falcons was the 400-yard medley relay team that posted a third place time of 4:17.16. That quartet consisted of sophomore Carla Harvey (Potomac Falls, VA HS), sophomore Teresa Zuniga (California HS), freshman Amanda Loya (St. Joseph HS) and sophomore Bianca Serrano (Cerritos HS).

That same foursome posted a fifth place time in the 200-yard freestyle relay of 1:48.56. Also competing in individual races were Zuniga, who finished in third place at 1:05.11 in the 100-yard IM, while Serrano placed 10th in a time of 27.85 in the 50-yard freestyle.
