W. Swimming: Falcons sitting in sixth place after second day

With two days completed at the South Coast Conference Championships, the Cerritos College women's swimming team sits in sixth place. The Falcons have compiled 217 team points and have one more day to try and pull ahead of fifth place Long Beach City College, who has 241 points heading into the third day at Mt. San Antonio College.

Cerritos earned fourth place finishes in four events on Friday, including the 200-yard medley relay, as they posted a time of 1:57.29. That team consisted of sophomore Carla Harvey (Potomac Falls, VA HS), sophomore Teresa Zuniga (California HS), freshman Amanda Loya (St. Joseph HS) and sophomore Bianca Serrano (Cerritos HS).

Also taking fourth place in individual events included Loya, who recorded a time of 2;15.02 in the 200-yard IM, while Zuniga was clocked in 34.83 in the 50-yard breaststroke and Harvey touched up in 28.93 in the 50-yard backstroke. Freshman Stephanie Alfaro (Gahr HS) posted a seventh place time of 29.71 in the 50-yard butterfly.
