Nearly two weeks ago, the Cerritos College women's track and field team posted three first place finishes and came in second place as a team at the 3C2A State Championships. On Wednesday, nine members of the Falcons team were recognized as All-Americans, which is awarded to those that finished in the top four places of any individual event or relay race.

Five of the nine recipients earned All-America honors in two events. Those included sprinters Jazzmine Davis (El Camino Real Charter HS), Aryianna Faircloth (Magnolia HS), Rionna Wallace (Lakewood HS/Cal State Northridge) and Crystal Nguyen (Fountain Valley HS), along with thrower Angelina Escobar (Bell Gardens HS). The others who were named All-America in one event were Elena Mack (El Camino Real Charter HS), Faitalia Ah-Fook (Warren HS) and Sophie Lopez (Fountain Valley HS).

Davis won the 100-meter HH with a blazing time of 13.72, which moved her into second place on the school's all-time top five list, as well as the heptathlon, as her point total of 4704 was over 400 points ahead of her closest competition. It also moved her into a tie for fourth place on the school's all-time top five list. The quartet of Rogers, Wallace, Nguyen and Faircloth won the state title in the 4x100-meter relay, with Davis, Lopez, Faircloth and Mack taking fourth place in the 4x400-meter relay, which all earned them All-America honors.

Wallace (2nd place in the 100 meters) was the other sprinter to receive the post-season award in an individual race.

Escobar earned her honors in both discus (2nd place) and javelin (3rd place), while Ah-Fook took second place in the hammer
