In their highest offensive output in 25 years, the Cerritos College men's basketball team held on for a 129-125 overtime win over host El Camino College on Friday. In their final regular season game, the Falcons (21-6, 7-3) won their seventh game in a row and will now find out on Monday where they will be seeded for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. Cerritos scored 129 points back in 1992 and three of their six highest scoring games in school history have come against El Camino.

Leading 96-87 with 4:16 left in regulation after a Riley Hamilton (Rancho Verde HS) layup, Cerritos saw the Warriors go on a 17-8 run to tie the game at 104-104 with :43 seconds left. The Falcons then led, 107-104 when Dezmon Murphy (La Mirada HS) scored and Hamilton added one of two free throws with :29 seconds left until El Camino drain a pair of free throws with no time on the clock to send the game into overtime.

In the extra period, both teams held a lead twice, until sophomore Brian Nebo (St. John Bosco HS) gave Cerritos the lead for good, 118-16 with 3:14 remaining. Sophomore Cristian Perez (Santa Fe HS) added a bucket for a four-point lead and after El Camino closed the lead to 120-118 with 2:08 remaining, neither team scored for the next 1:26 until Perez netted a pair of free throws. The Warriors hit a jumper with :01 left and quickly fouled Perez, who was good on both attempts to close out the scoring.

Perez finished with a career-high 27 points, 19 rebounds and seven assists to lead the Falcons, while Nebo connected on 11-of-16 field goals for 23 points, to go along with five rebounds and five assists. Sophomore Anthony Lefeau (Orange Lutheran HS) posted 22 points on 10-of-14 shooting, along with nine rebounds, as Cerritos shot 56% from the field.

Hamilton added 14 points and nine rebounds, with Murphy posting 14 points and three blocked shots off the bench. Freshmen Jonathan Guzman (Paramount HS), who had 10 points, and Malik Smith (Gahr HS), with nine points and eight rebounds, also played well off the bench.
