After a slow start to the 2023 season, the Cerritos College men's soccer team has now won four games in a row to improve their record to 4-3-1. After defeating host Los Angeles Pierce College on Tuesday night, the Falcons have outscored their opponents, 20-2 during their four-game winning streak. The team will travel to Golden West College for a 3:00 p.m. non-conference game on Friday.

"We have a very young team and it's taken is a while to get on track," said head coach Benny Artiaga. "But our guys are starting to buy in and believe in each other. We will keep working to improve."

Cerritos broke a scoreless game in the 32nd minute when sophomore Kevin Meza (ASU Preparatory Academy HS/Northern Illinois University) saw his pass land on the foot of freshman Adrian Aguilar (Banning HS), who scored his first goal of the season. Meza now has points in three of the four wins by the Falcons.
Right before halftime, the team extended their lead on a goal from Meza in the 43rd minute with freshman Luis Medina (California Connections Academy HS) getting credit for the assist.

Sophomore goalkeeper Steven Ruiz (Cathedral HS), who turned away four shots to secure the shutout win, received more offensive support early in the second half. Medina registered his first multi-point game with his goal in the 51st minute to close out the scoring.

Cerritos took 16 shots on the game, with 10 of them on the mark.
