Continuing their offensive onslaught of opponents, the Cerritos College men's soccer team scored six times for the second time in a row, as they handed visiting Los Angeles Pierce College a 6-0 defeat on Friday. The win extended the Falcons (6-2-1) unbeaten streak to six in a row (5-0-1), as the team has outscored their last three opponents, 17-1.

Cerritos will open South Coast Conference play next Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. when they host Long Beach City College.

"This was a good win for us today," said head coach Benny Artiaga. "The guys are starting to click at the right time. We had one of the toughest pre-seasons and our guys are battle-tested. We'll be ready for the start of conference play."

Coming off a game where he had two goals and three assists against Glendale College on Tuesday, sophomore Donovan Perez (South East HS) scored three goals in the first half to help the Falcons open a 5-0 lead.

Just two minutes into the game, Perez was tackled in the 18-yard box and finished off the play by converting the first of his two penalty shots. He also scored one in the 35th minute before capping off his hat trick in the 41st minute after Erick Velasco (Norwalk HS) had his initial shot deflect off the crossbar.

The nicest goal of the day came from Jose Lopez (MY Academy HS), who finished off a play after receiving a long pass through the middle from Cesar Solarzano Garcia (California Pacific Charter HS). Lopez, who had a hat trick against Glendale, chipped the ball into the net in the 23rd minute. Adrian Ibarra (Downey HS) closed out the scoring in the 71st minute when he was able to chip in a shot on a nice pass from Perez.
