Locked in a physical battle with visiting East Los Angeles College on Friday, the Cerritos College men's soccer team played to a scoreless draw. Although they didn't win the game, the Falcons (10-2-3, 4-0-2) extended their unbeaten streak to 12 games (9-0-3) as they prepare to travel to El Camino College next Tuesday for a 4:00 p.m. South Coast Conference match. The Warriors (12-1-2, 5-1-0), who sit in first place in the South Division, will likely see the winner of the game earn the #1-seed for the upcoming SCC Tournament.

The Falcons had two occasions where it looked as though they would get on the scoreboard. In the 37th minute, sophomore Donovan Perez (South East HS) fired a shot that hit hard off the crossbar, which kept Cerritos off the scoreboard. Then, just five minutes into the second half, sophomore Jose Lopez (MY Academy HS) drilled a shot off the crossbar, which kept the game scoreless.

Freshman Eduardo Enriquez (Linda Esperanza Marquez HS) made his first start of the season and came up with two saves to preserve the shutout tie. As a team, Cerritos had just one of their 11 shots land on goal.
