Cerritos College Men’s Swimming (2020): Maintained his eligibility after the season was canceled due to Covid-19… Competed in the 50-yard breaststroke (31.36), 100-yard freestyle (57.05), 100-yard butterfly (1:05.33), 100-yard breaststroke (1:07.74), 100-yard butterfly (1:05.33), 200-yard IM (2:23.97) and 500-yard freestyle (5:54.47)…..

Cerritos College Men’s Water Polo (2021): Earned 1st Team All-South Coast Conference honors… Appeared in all 31 games and finished with 40 goals, 27 assists and 32 steals… Was third on the team with 39 exclusions drawn and tied for second with 10 blocks… Scored a season-high five goals against San Diego Mesa College and had three goals in five other games… Registered a season-high three assists against Saddleback College and posted a season-high four steals in four games… Drew five exclusions against Orange Coast College…..

Cerritos College Men’s Water Polo (2020): No season due to Covid-19…..

Cerritos College Men’s Water Polo (2019): Played in 27 games and recorded 28 goals, with eight assists and 15 steals… Scored a season-high four goals in consecutive games against Citrus College and Rio Hondo College… Had three goals in three other games… Turned in a season-high two assists and three steals against Rio Hondo in another game…..

Cerritos HS: Named 1st Team All-CIF, 605 League Most Valuable Player and 1st Team all-league as a senior… While on the swimming team, he posted a personal best time of 56.0 in the 100-yard freestyle… Spent four seasons on the swimming and water polo teams… Coached by former Cerritos College coach and athlete Paul Park, as well as former Falcon athlete Al Reyes…..

Personal: Most memorable moment was when he scored six goals in a CIF quarterfinal playoff game against Esperanza High… Would like to transfer to UC San Diego and aspires to be a firefighter… Hobbies include body surfing and spending time with his family… Nicknamed “Joey”… Has two siblings – Kobe (19) and Easton (8)… Is the son of Jose and Natalie Hurtado… Born in Artesia, CA on February 1, 2001…..
