For the second season in a row, Cerritos College sophomore swimmer Kobe Hurtado (Cerritos HS) was the lone representative from the team at the 3C2A State Championships. Swimming in both the 100-yard butterfly and 200-yard butterfly at East Los Angeles College, Hurtado placed 16th in both events to record the Falcons lone two team points.

On Friday in the 100-yard butterfly, Hurtado recorded a time of 52.16 in the prelims, which put him in 15th place. Competing in the consolation race, his clocking of 52.32 landed him in 16th place. He came back on Saturday in the 200-yard butterfly and registered a 2:04.57 in the prelims, which once again put him in 15th place. The consolation finals resulted in a time of 2:01.08, which put him in 16th place. Hurtado's times were a bit faster during his freshman year.

In his freshman season, he came in 13th place in both the 100-yard butterfly (52.11) and 200-yard butterfly (2:01.98). His personal best times in the 100-yard butterfly (51.71) and 200-yard butterfly (2:00.47) rank third and fourth, respectively on the school's all-time list.
