With the South Coast Conference Prelims set to take place at Mt. San Antonio College on Tuesday, the Cerritos College men's track and field team entered a limited number of entries in the Beach Invitational. Held at Cerritos College, the team had entries in only four events and held out the majority of their top competitors.

Sophomore Dionbrea Norris (Long Beach Millikan HS) struggled in the high jump and only finished in a tie for 25th place with a best clearance of 1.91 meters, well off his personal best height of 2.08 meters. Had he been able to match that height, it would have put him in fourth place.

In the 3000-steeplechase, Jaime Perez (South El Monte HS) came in 19th place in 10:44.74, while Joel Perez (Long Beach Wilson HS) finished in 20th place at 10:46.24. The Falcons also had representation in the 800 meters and saw Thomas Poston (El Dorado HS) finish the race in 1:55.82, which put him in 57th place, while DeShaunte Lewis (Long Beach Poly HS) was close behind in 59th place with a time of 1:56.44. The Falcons had seven other runners in the race of 101 entries. Cerritos also had four compete in the 1500 meters, with Oscar Contreras (Huntington Park HS) the first on the team to finish, as he placed 97th in 4:24.68.
