Sending a limited number of athletes to the Cal State Long Beach Invitational, the Cerritos College men's track and field team posted a few good marks. The Falcons had several performances worthy of mention against mainly four-year universities. The team will now prepare for the South Coast Conference Prelims, which will take place April 25 at El Camino College.
In the long jump, sophomore Stacy Chukwumezie (Downey HS) went up against 61 other competitors and came in 17th place with a season-best distance of 7.26 meters, which moves him into second place in Southern California this year. The running events resulted in sophomore Jaydon Logan (Artesia HS) finishing in 17th place out of 47 entries in the 400-meter IH, as he posted a time of 53.62. He currently holds the second fastest time in Southern California. As for sophomore Jhamani Long (Cerritos HS), he ran the 35th fastest time in the 800 meters with a season-best clocking of 1:53.19.
