Hosting Long Beach City College for the second Friday in a row, the Cerritos College women's basketball team fell to their crosstown rival, 82-48 in a South Coast Conference South Division game. The Falcons (10-13, 2-2) travel to El Camino College for a 5:00 p.m. division game next Wednesday.

In the first meeting, Cerritos was able to come back from an early first-half deficit and fought the Vikings (16-6, 4-0) until the final minutes of the game in a 12-point loss. The second time around, Long Beach City was able to start pulling away in the first half, but the Falcons didn't have an answer.

Once the Vikings were able to extend their lead to double digits, the Falcons would not be able to pull any closer, as they recorded consecutive 22-10 quarters to open up their lead. In those two quarters, LBCC shot a combined 19-of-36 from the field, compared to an 8-for-38 shooting performance from Cerritos. That proved to be too much, as the first and fourth quarters were much closer.

Freshman Bridgette McIntyre (St. Anthony HS) was the lone Cerritos player to score in double-figures, as she finished with 14 points, while sophomore Brianna Flores (Norwalk HS) added seven points and three rebounds. Freshman Melana Goodloe (Warren HS) pulled down six of her eight rebounds on the offensive end, with freshman Damarie Saldivar (Paramount HS) dishing out a team-high five assists to go with her five points in the game.
