On Wednesday, the Cerritos College women's basketball team shot 54% from the field in the fourth quarter to help them come away with a 50-45 South Coast Conference South Division win over host El Camino College. The Falcons (11-13, 3-2) will now host Los Angeles Harbor College on consecutive Friday nights, starting with this week in a 5:00 p.m. start.

Holding a 33-29 lead heading into the fourth quarter, Cerritos missed three of their first four shots in the final quarter, which allowed the Warriors (5-18, 1-4) to take a 38-37 lead with 4:09 left in the game. But the Falcons went on to receive three straight baskets from sophomore Brianna Flores (Norwalk HS), and after sophomore Ashley Miller (Paramount HS) hit a short jumper, the team lead, 45-43. They would go on to hold the lead the rest of the way.

A missed three-pointer from Miller was pulled down by freshman Siara Avila (Downey HS), who scored on a put-back with :26 seconds left for a 47-43 advantage. Freshman Bridgette McIntyre (St. Anthony HS) was then fouled with :08 seconds left and drained both free throws to make it a 49-45 Falcon lead. Freshman Damarie Saldivar (Paramount HS) closed out the scoring with one of two free throws in the final seconds.

McIntyre led the team with 16 points, while adding six rebounds and four steals, with Miller posting nine points, seven rebounds and five assists. As for Flores, she had eight points and five rebounds, with Saldivar leading the team with five steals.
