Faced with the daunting task of taking on the #2-ranked team in the state, Mt. San Antonio College, the Cerritos College women's basketball team absorbed a 96-30 South Coast Conference crossover loss on Friday night. The Falcons (4-13) will close out their crossover schedule on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. when they host Los Angeles City College.

Cerritos struggled to get off high percentage shots against a much taller Mounties team, which also affected the lopsided rebounding numbers. Mt. SAC opened up a quick 15-2 lead in the first quarter and never looked back. The Falcons went scoreless over large blocks of time, while the Mounties were able to convert their shots. And when their first attempt didn't fall, they had the height to pull down offensive rebounds for second efforts.

The team did get three-pointers in the fourth quarter from both Jayden Estrada (Anaheim HS) and Brianna Charles (El Rancho HS), while Estrada also converted a first-half three-point play to provide high points in the game.

Sophomore Damarie Saldivar (Paramount HS) led the Falcons with 11 points, while Estrada finished with eight points.
