In her final event as a member of the Cerritos College women's swimming team, Amanda Loya (St. Joseph HS) won the consolation championship in the 200-yard breaststroke at the CCCAA State Championships. She adds that to her sixth place finish in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 12th place in the 200-yard IM. Loya earned the Falcons 27 team points, which put them in 25th place at the state championships.

The school record holder in the event (2:27.77), Loya turned in a time of 2:31.98 in the prelims, which was the 10th best time. She improved on that with her time of 2:29.46, which edged out San Joaquin Delta College's Jensyn Breakfield, who touched up in a time of 2:29.65.

In her freshman season, Loya placed eighth in the 200-yard IM and ninth in the 100-yard breaststroke at the state championships.
