After finishing in third place in the competitive South Coast Conference, the Cerritos College women's tennis team was seeded #4 for the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (18-6) will host #5-seeded Santa Barbara City College (10-3) at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Initially, Cerritos was scheduled to face Grossmont College, who they defeated 8-1 last Friday. The winner will advance to the second round and play next Tuesday.

The Falcons have faced six of the other seven teams in the Southern California Regional Playoffs and have a combined 3-5 record, which includes an 0-2 record against South Coast Conference opponents Mt. San Antonio College, while they split their two matches with College of the Desert. This will be the first meeting of the year against the Vaqueros.

NOTE: According to the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA):

1 vs. 8: cleared, 2 vs. 7: cleared, 3 vs. 6: cleared, *4 vs. 5: same conference
*Per rule 2.3.2.B in the tennis championship handbook these two teams are not supposed to meet in the first round. In order to avoid this conference match-up Santa Barbara will move to #5 seed and Desert will move to the #6 seed.
The new match-up order is:
#1 Mt. SAC vs. #8 Grossmont (SCC vs. PCAC)
#2 Glendale vs. #7 Irvine Valley (WSC vs. OEC)
#3 Riverside vs. #6 Desert (OEC vs. SCC)
#4 Cerritos vs. #5 Santa Barbara (SCC vs. WSC)

Admission to the match against Santa Barbara City is free.
