On Tuesday, the Cerritos College women's tennis team won three of the seven total matches that were played against host Fullerton College. With just five players on the roster, the Falcons (0-3) were forced to forfeit one of the singles and doubles matches, which contributed to their 6-3 non-conference loss. The team will open South Coast Conference play on Thursday when they travel to El Camino College for a 2:00 p.m. match.

Picking up wins in singles play were both Alba Gonzalez (Colegio Madre Guadalupe, Venezuela) and Yesenia Palacios (Long Beach Wilson HS), who each won in straight sets. In the #2 match, Gonzalez earned a 6-4, 6-0 win over Alexus Lombera, while Palacios posted a convincing 6-1, 6-2 victory against Janey Sjiau in the #3 position on the ladder. Gonzalez teamed with sophomore Moa Lindström (Dragonskolan Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden) in the #1 doubles match for a hard-fought 8-6 victory.
