There were six matches played when the Cerritos College women's tennis team faced Rio Hondo College on Thursday. Each team won three of the matches, but because the Falcons are shorthanded, the other three were foreits, which led to a 6-3 South Coast Conference loss. The team will now travel to El Camino College on Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in another conference match.

At the top of both the singles and doubles ladders, Cerritos dominated, as sophomore Moa Lindström (Dragonskolan Elitidrottgymnasium, Sweden) and freshman Alba Gonzalez (Colegio Madre Guadalupe, Venezuela) posting 6-0, 6-0 singles victories. They also teamed up for an 8-0 doubles win.

Normally competing with five singles players, the Falcons were limited to just four, as freshman Yesenia Palacios (Long Beach Wilson HS) was unavailable. Freshman Evelyn Rodriguez Toro (Compton HS), who usually plays in the #5 position, moved up to #4 and extended her match to three sets, before dropped a 4-6, 7-5, 1-6 decision. Freshman Selene Bayardo (Long Beach Millikan HS) forced a tie-breaker in her first set, but was defeated in straight sets.
