With the majority of their entries competing in throwing events, the Cerritos College women's track and field had some outstanding marks at the Cal State Los Angeles Twilight Open. It was the final meet for the Falcons before they take part in the South Coast Conference Prelims, which will take place at Cerritos on April 29.
Leading the way for the team was sophomore thrower Faitalia Ah-Fook (Warren HS), who improved on her best mark in the hammer. Although she took 16th place in the meet, with a pair of Big 10 performers leading the way, Ah-Fook recorded a disance of 47.74 meters. That mark moved her into third in the state in that event among California Community Colleges. Also recording a personal best in the discus was sophomore Angelina Escobar (Bell Gardens HS). Her throw of 41.35 meters moved her to fifth in the state in the event, while she came in seventh place in the meet.
Freshman sprinter Kimora Rogers (Katella HS) saw her time of 24.95 earn her a fourth place in the meet and it moves her up to the sixth fastest time in the state this season.
