Cerritos College Women’s Cross Country (2019): Placed 93rd at the Southern California Championships with a time of 23:15.0, while her time of 25:00.6 earned her a 21st place finish at the South Coast Conference Championships… Came in 196th place in a time of 27:19.10 at the Highlander Invitational, and was clocked in 23:18.6 to come in 61st place at the Brubaker Classic… While at the Cerritos Invitational, her time of 21:45.1 put her in 32nd place and posted a time of 21:13.3 to finish in 108th place at the Coyote Challenge… At the SoCal Preview Meet, her time of 23:27.5 put her in 92nd place and was clocked in 22:42.9 for a 68th place at the Fresno Invitational… Opened the season in 183rd place in a time of 24:33.4 at the Mark Covert Classic…..
El Rancho HS: Spent just one season on the cross country team and was their Most Improved Player… While on the track and field team, she qualified for the CIF Prelims in the 200 meters (26.73) after winning the Del Rio League championship… Was her team’s Most Valuable Player, captain and Scholar-Athlete… Also competed in the 100 meters (13.64) and 400 meters (1:01.12)… Voted the team’s Most Improved Player her junior and freshman years after being named the Rookie of the Year as a sophomore… Was also on the tennis team for two seasons…..
Personal: Most memorable moment was when she qualified for the CIF Prelims in the 200 meters and 400 meters as a senior on the track and field team and won the league championship in the 200 meters… Would like to transfer to either Cal State Los Angeles or Cal State Long Beach and aspires to be a registered nurse… Hobbies include organizing and learning about fashion… Has five siblings – Kathy, Derrick, Jenny, Diego and Alex… Is the daughter of Nimrad Barrera and Alicia Montero… Born in East Los Angeles, CA on September 20, 2001…..
