For just the second time this season, the Cerritos College softball team was kept off the scoreboard. On Tuesday, the Falcons (11-9) was shut out by host Mt. San Antonio College, which was the team's third straight loss. They will look to get back in the win column when they host Pasadena City College at 3:00 p.m., weather permitting.

The Mounties (18-1) jumped on the board with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first off freshman Allisyn Udell (Whittier Christian HS). They added a single run in the fourth inning and tacked on three more in the sixth against Udell and freshman Sierra Gerdts (Montebello HS).

In the top of the third inning, freshman shortstop Tena Spoolstra (Mayfair HS) and Vega led off with consecutive singles. A pair of fielder's choices were unsuccessful in advancing the runners, with freshman outfielder Kayla Aros (Torrance HS) striking out to end the scoring threat. Cerritos loaded the bases in the top of the sixth inning, but were turned away once again. With one out, Aros and freshman outfielder Brianna Spoolstra (Mayfair HS) each singled.

Then, with two outs, freshman third baseman Kayla Hernandez (Santa Fe HS) was hit by a pitch to load the bases. Freshman Nicoal Magdaleno (La Habra HS) grounded out into a fielder's choice to end the inning. Tena Spoolstra led off the seventh inning with a double and sophomore catcher Briana Lopez (Norwalk HS) drew a walk, but both were stranded at the end of the game.
