After leading the state in home runs, Cerritos College catcher/3rd baseman Briana Lopez has signed a National Letter of Intent with NAIA Arizona Christian University. Lopez, who was named 3CFCA All-American, was also a two-time 1st Team All-South Coast Conference selection in her time with the Falcons. She concluded the season batting .383 with 19 home runs, 11 doubles, three triples, 62 RBI and a .908 slugging percentage. Her RBI total was fifth in the state, while her slugging percentage was 11th. Her 19 round-trippers on the season left her one home run shy of tying the school's single-season record.

Briana Lopez signed with Arizona Christian Lopez will be joining former Falcon Kylee Brown, who was named All-Southern California, as well as 1st Team All-South Coast Conference in her 2017 sophomore season. As a junior with the Firestorm this past season, Brown led them in batting (.372), home runs (9), RBI (35), walks (16) and fielding percentage (.977). Arizona Christian, who plays in the Golden State Athletic Association, finished the season 15-28 and were 6-12 in the GSAC, which included a pair of conference tournament losses to end their season.

She will have a chance to earn the starting catching spot with the graduation of Chelsea Havill and will battle with two other returning catchers.
