With the South Coast Conference schedule coming to a close, the Cerritos College beach volleyball team suffered a 5-0 loss at the hands of El Camino College on Friday. The Falcons (7-11, 1-7) close out the regular season next Friday at 10:00 a.m. when they take on College of the Desert and host Rio Hondo College.

In the loss to the Warriors (12-6, 6-2), Cerritos extended two of the matches to a third set tie-breaker, but could not pull off a win. In the #2 match, the tandem of freshmen Jasmine Soto-Castro (Schurr HS) and Brisa Cortez (Schurr HS) dropped the first set, 16-21, but were able to battle back to take the second set, 21-19. That forced a third set, but El Camino came away with the win, 15-8. 

As for the pairing of sophomore Jenni Solano (La Mirada HS) and freshman Emily Gutierrez (Downey HS), they won the first set, 21-18, but saw the Warriors come back to win the second set 21-12 and then earn a 15-7 score in the tie-breaker. The top pair of sophomore Jayda Harris-Amete (La Mirada HS) and freshman Leeya Rubio (Schurr HS) had a close match, but came up short, 15-21, 17-21, while the fourth pairing of sophomore Madison Borja (La Mirada HS) and freshman Monserrat Rodriguez (Gahr HS) played a tough match, but fell, 18-21, 17-21.
