In their 7-0 South Coast Conference loss to Long Beach City College on Thursday, the Cerritos College baseball team collected just two hits. Their loss to the Vikings dropped the team's record to 8-12 overall and 3-5 in conference play. The two teams will meet up for the third game of their series on Saturday at noon at Kincaid Field.

Limiting the team was LBCC freshman pitcher Nick Wood, who tossed the first seven innings. The only threat the Falcons presented was in the top of the first inning, as freshman outfielder Joseph Rivera (Savanna HS) drew a walk and freshman outfielder Johnny Martinez (Katella HS) was hit by a pitch. Freshman third baseman Hayden Stevens (Katella HS) followed with a base hit to load the bases. But freshman designated hitter Myles Mendez (Long Beach Poly HS) hit into a double play to end the threat.

The Vikings scored runs in six different innings to slowly build their lead. Freshman Dylan Algra (Valley Christian HS) took the loss, as he lasted 4 2/3 innings, while the quartet of Jacob Northcutt (Summerville HS), Jonathan Grana (Downey HS), Spencer Long (La Habra HS) and Jared Gibson (Downey HS) all saw time on the mound.
