Heading into their three-game series against Los Angeles Harbor College, the Cerritos College baseball team was looking to build on a season-long three-game winning streak. But after falling behind 5-0 to the Seahawks, the Falcons (11-17, 6-7) went on to drop an 8-2 score. The two teams will meet up on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at Kincaid Field.

LA Harbor (10-17-1, 6-7) jumped on freshman starting pitcher Jared Robinson (Bishop Amat HS) in the first inning without the benefit of a hit. With two outs, Robinson (2-5) walked Michael Encinas and then hit AJ Kissinger. A wild pitch and passed ball allowed Encinas to score. In the second inning, the Seahawks scored three runs in the conventional way with four hits, including two-run single from Jordan Espino to put the game at 4-0.

Cerritos scored a pair of runs in the top of the fourth inning thanks to a two-run home run from freshman third baseman Hayden Stevens (Katella HS), which plated Robinson, who reached base on an error. However, the Falcons would only collect two more hits the remainder of the game, as Jonathan Hernandez tossed the first six inning and Hector Avila earned a save with three innings of relief.

Robinson lasted 2 2/3 innings and allowed five runs (four earned), while the trio of sophomore Jared Gibson (Downey HS), along with freshmen Christian Smith (Garden Grove HS) and Andrew Bueno (St. John Bosco) pitched the remainder of the game.
