Competing in the three-day South Coast Conference Championships at Mt. San Antonio College, the Cerritos College men's swimming team finished in sixth place with 305 team points. The Falcons will find out on Monday if any of their swimmers qualified for the CCCAA State Championships.

Individually, there were three third place finishes, while the relay teams collected fourth place, fifth place and two sixth place finishes. Leading the way individually was freshman Billy Catton (La Quinta HS), who accounted for two of the third place finishes in individual races. In the 100-yard breaststroke, Catton posted a time of 1:02.53, and was on pace with the eventual champion most of the way, and ended up trailing by a little over two seconds. His time of 2:21.83 on the 200-yard breaststroke also earned him a third place medal. Catton also swam the second leg of the 400-yard medley relay team that took fourth place in a time of 3:45.76.

Joining him in the relay race was freshman Sam Turley (La Quinta HS), who posted a third place time of 54.93 in the 100-yard backstroke. He dropped to fifth place in the 200-yard IM in the finals with a time of 2:03.70 after recording the third fastest prelims time of 2:02.44. It was a fifth place finish for Turley in the 200-yard backstroke with a clocking of 2:04.30.

That same duo also accounted for half of the 200-yard medley relay that posted a fifth place time of 1:41.36 and were joined by freshman Zach Estrada (St. John Bosco HS) and sophomore Jake Evans (Long Beach Wilson HS), which also comprised the 400-yard medley relay team.
