The Cerritos College men's water polo team opened their day with a 15-6 South Coast Conference win over visiting Chaffey College in a South Coast Conference match on Wednesday. The Falcons (19-7, 3-1) will close the day with a 7:00 p.m. non-conference game against Occidental College at the Falcon Aquatic Center. It marks the second week in a row the team will play two games in one day.

In keeping the Panthers (0-24, 0-3) winless for the season, freshman Joshua Owens (Kennedy HS) scored a career-high seven goals, which included four in the second quarter. After Cerritos opened up a 3-0 lead in the first quarter, they accounted for six more goals before halftime to cruise out to a big lead. Freshman goalkeeper Coleton Perez (Western HS) stepped in and made 13 saves on the day to contribute to the win.

None of the starters saw any action against Chaffey, as they prepared for the game against Occidental (5-15). Also picking up the scoring were freshmen Kevin Cordova (Montebello HS), Jacob Erdtsiek (Western HS) and Joseph Hermosillo (Sonora HS), who all scored twice in the game, while Erdtsiek and Hermosillo also contributed a pair of steals.
