With their 16-9 South Coast Conference win over host Chaffey College on Wednesday, the Cerritos College men's water polo team improved to 11-1 overall and 2-0 in the South Coast Conference. The Falcons will now host a one-day tournament on Friday and are scheduled to host Orange Coast College at 8:00 a.m. and then face San Diego Mesa College in a 1:50 p.m. match.

In the team's victory over the Panthers, sophomore Jesus Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela) led the team with five goals, as he assumed more of an offensive role with brother, and leading goal scorer, Angel Rojas (Colegio Fray Luis Amigo, Venezuela), sitting out the game. Additionally, the trio of Israel Rodriguez (Whittier HS), Ever Resendiz (Colegio de Bachilleres 6, Mexico) and Salvador Orozco (Montebello HS) each scored twice, as nine different Falcons scored in the win.

Freshman Kameron Simmons (Evanston Township, IL HS) produced a team-high three steals to go with his one goal, while the freshmen goalkeeping tandem of Matthew Contreras (Montebello HS) and Jason Curiel (El Rancho HS) split the duties and combined for seven saves.
