Coming off an emotional win on Friday, the Cerritos College softball team could not find their rhythm in a 14-0, 5-inning loss at Palomar College on Saturday. The loss evens the Falcons record at 1-1, as they will look to rebound on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. when they host Glendale College.

Although they lost by such a large margin, Cerritos did threaten to keep the game close early on. Trailing 2-0, they loaded the bases in the top of the second inning. Freshman first baseman Keira Bolinas (Torrance HS) led off with a single and advanced to second on a two-out base hit from freshman second baseman Kayla Aros (Torrance HS). A walk to freshman outfielder Brianna Spoolstra (Mayfair HS) loaded the bases for sophomore outfielder Emma Wolff (Mayfair HS), who grounded out to end the threat.

The Falcons loaded the bases again in the top of the fourth inning. Down, 6-0, Bolinas led off with a single, with freshman designated player Kayle Hernandez (Santa Fe HS) and freshman shortstop Tena Spoolstra (Mayfair HS) both following with walks. But a pair of strikeouts and a pop-up kept the team off the board, with the Comets coming back with an eight-spot in the bottom of the stanza to put the game out of reach.
