Although the Cerritos College women's soccer team has won only four games on the year, three of the victories have been by shutout. The Falcons earned a 3-0 win at Compton College on Friday to improve their record to 4-11-0 overall and 4-4-0 in the South Coast Conference. They will play their final regular season game on Tuesday at 4:00 p.m. when they host Rio Hondo College. After the game against the Roadrunners, the team will compete in the SCC Tournament.

After a scoreless first half against the Tartars, Cerritos scored their three goals over a 17-minute span. Freshman Madelynn Jones (Liberty HS) accounted for the first two goals, which now gives her a team-leading five on the season. She opened the scoring in the 48th minute, as the Falcons came out in the second half with a much more aggressive offensive approach. She doubled the team's lead in the 60th minute, while freshman Genesis Mendoza (Bellflower HS) closed out the scoring in the 65th minute with her first goal of the season.

Sophomore goalkeeper Victoria Ruiz (Applied Technology Center HS) turned away nine Compton shots to secure the shutout win. It was her third of the season and 10th in her career.
