The Cerritos College women's track and field team was well-represented at the Cal State Los Angeles Invitational over the weekend. Competing against four-year colleges, the Falcons had eight top five finishes in the competition. The distance runners will take part in the Occidental Distance Carnival on Friday at Occidental College, while the team will compete in a five-way meet at UC Irvine on Saturday.

A trio of Falcons finished in the top six in the triple jump with sophomore Raiven Ellis (California HS) coming in third place with a distance of 11.33 meters. Sophomore Ariel Thomas (Warren HS) took fourth place at 11.29 meters, while Michannai Wright (Paramount HS) posted a distance of 10.93 meters on her first jump to secure sixth place. She also had a faster time than any other community college runner in the event.
