In search of their first win of the season, the Cerritos College men's basketball team dropped a 73-57 score to College of the Canyons at the Irvine Valley Tournament on Friday. The loss eliminated the Falcons (0-3) from the tournament, as they will now take on host  Santa Ana College at 5:30 p.m. on November 27.

Poor shooting put the team behind early against the Cougars (3-1), who also struggled to find the bottom of the basket. Cerritos continues to out-rebound their opponents (46-41) but just haven't been able to take advantage of their second chance opportunities. They trailed, 31-22 at halftime after converting 27% of their field goals and followed that by netting just 33% in the second half.

Freshman guard Kevin Conrad (Buena Park HS) led the team with 14 points on 6-of-11 shooting, with sophomore David Hall (Lynwood HS/Yavapai, AZ College) contributing nine points, eight rebounds and three steals off the bench. Freshman Terence Traylor (Dominguez HS) added seven points and seven boards off the bench, with sophomore Anthony Holliday (Norwalk HS) posting seven points, five rebounds and four assists.
