M. Basketball: Falcons record big win over LA Trade-Tech

With the regular season winding down, the Cerritos College men's basketball team knows every win is important. With their 74-56 win over host Los Angeles Trade-Tech College on Wednesday night, the Falcons maintained their lead in the South Coast Conference South Division with an 8-1 record, while they are also 14-8 on the season. The team as four regular season games remaining and will travel to El Camino College on Friday for a 6:00 p.m. game.

In the win over the Beavers (4-17, 1-7), Cerritos received scoring from every member of the team, as they opened up a 40-20 lead at halftime, which allowed the bench to empty and everyone get quality minutes. Sophomore Marquise Washington (Westchester HS/Cypress College) converted 8-of-14 shots and led the team with 16 points, nine rebounds and three blocked shots, while also adding three assists. 

Also hot from the field was freshman guard Kevin Conrad (Buena Park HS), who netted 6-of-8 shots to finish with 12 points, as the Falcons received 27 bench points. The duo of sophomore guards Anthony Holliday (Norwalk HS) and Chris Wyms (King-Drew HS/West Los Angeles College) both scored eight points, with Holliday dishing out four assists and Wyns pulling down five rebounds. Off the bench, sophomore Andrew Torres (Montebello HS/Humboldt State) posted five board, with sophomore David Hall (Lynwood HS/Yavapai (AZ) CC) chipping in with six points.
