The Cerritos College men's water polo team picked up a 12-6 non-conference win over Los Angeles Valley College on Wednesday at the Falcon Aquatic Center. The victory by the Falcons over the Brahmas (2-7) evened their record at 8-8, while they will get back into action next weekend at the Golden West Tournament.

In the first two quarters, Cerritos dominated the game and held a 7-1 lead at intermission, with five different players scoring at least once. Sophomore Albert Kim (Cerritos HS) and freshman Marlon Moreno (Virgen del Rosario, Venezuela HS) each scored twice in the first half, with freshman goalie Alfredo De Le Mora (Bell Gardens HS) turing away six shots to help the team hold a big lead.

Although LA Valley outscored the Falcons in the third quarter, they continued to trail by as many as five goals in the second half. Sophomore Miguel Garcia (Montebello HS) scored twice in the fourth quarter and finished with a game-high five goals, while he also assisted on five more. Freshman Eugene Lee (Hacienda Heights Wilson HS) also assisted on three goals, while freshman Peter Roldan (Downey HS) played solid defense and posted three steals to go along with his goal. Freshman Michael Asendorf (Sunny Hills HS) came on in the second half and made five saves in goal.
