The Cerritos College men's water polo team saw their season come to an end on Friday when they were defeated by Golden West College, 13-9 in the Southern California Regional Playoffs. The Falcons (16-14), seeded #7 in the tournament, fell behind early and never were able to get back into the game against the #2-seeded Rustlers (21-2). In the first round of the playoffs, the team eliminated Fullerton College, 13-11, which set up their game against Golden West.

The team fell behind, 4-2 after the first period and trailed, 9-3 at intermission. They had their fair share of shots, but saw Golden West goalkeeper Isai Cohen post 12 saves. Cerritos didn't get the offensive output from some of their top scorers, as sophomore Miguel Garcia (Montebello HS) was limited to two goals and freshman Marlon Moreno (Virgen del Rosario, Venezuela HS) was held scoreless. He scored five times in the win over Fullerton.

Sophomore TJ Tigerina (Bell Gardens HS) provided three goals for the Falcons, while Moreno posted three steals and a pair of assists, with Garcia adding three helpers. Freshman goalkeeper Alfredo De La Mora (Bell Gardens HS) recorded six saves and added three steals in the loss.
