Leading from start to finish in their non-conference game against visiting Golden West College on Wednesday, the Cerritos College women's basketball team used a series of three-pointers to lock down the 61-53 win. The Falcons (5-6) will now have 10 days of rest before their next game, as they enter the Fullerton Tournament on December 28.

Leading the Rustlers (0-7), 49-32 starting the fourth quarter Cerritos found their lead dwindle down to 49-39 in the first three minutes. Sophomore Kayla Sta. Ana (St. Joseph HS) dropped a three-pointer with 6:18 remaining to push the lead back to 13 points. With the advantage down to just eight points (52-44) after Golden West's Jackie Navarro connected on her second straight three-pointer with 4:57 remaining, sophomore Mariah Lora (Warren HS) locked down the win with consecutive three-pointers to make it a 58-45 lead with just 1:47 on the clock.

Cerritos was then able to run the clock down to pick up the win and snap their two-game losing streak.

Lora led all scorers with 18 points and also added five rebounds, with sophomore Sarah Hernandez (St. Paul HS) accounting for 15 points, 14 rebounds and four steals in the win. Freshman Precious Yerena (Downey HS) finished with 12 points and three steals before fouling out, with the Falcons recording a season-high 22 steals and converted them into 32 points. Freshman Jordan Lewis (Downey HS) contributed six points, six rebounds and a team-high six steals.
